Just wanted to say that looking at your photos helped me narrow down my search for a film camera. Like I just bought a canon ae -1 five seconds ago on ebay. Any tips/advice?

Oh, how cool! I’m glad my photos could help you decide :) As for tips… the thing I love about my AE-1 is that it’s really reliable (my first film camera was a Diana F+, which is both excitingly and annoyingly unreliable), but still surprises me with how beautiful it can make things look without any editing (FILM IS GREAT). I don’t really have any tips, other than just photographing enough that you get to know the camera well! I love my Canon because it was a gift from my grandpa to my father when he graduated from grad school over 30 years ago… so shooting with it is sentimental, too! I hope you love your new camera!

Love your shots! Makes me miss using film!

Thanks so much! That’s really kind. You should start up with film, again :)

Nathan and I are finally doing a photo project with one another- a split zine that we are calling “Same Coin”. It will display about 10 photos from each of us (the one above is just one of Nathan’s awesome photos) and will be printed in the next couple weeks, & then available for purchase. So excited!
